The opioid epedemic is hitting MS hard.

A counterfeit version of a prescription painkiller that's being sold on the streets in Mississippi has already killed one man in Madison. And Bureau of Narcotics director John Dowdy says they're worried that other people are buying those tablets containing pure fentanyl, which is at least 500 times stronger than the OxyContin the victim thought he was purchasing. The light blue tablets are imprinted with the letter "M" inside a square on one side and the number 30 on the other side. Almost 200 Mississippians have died of drug overdoses this year, most of them involving fentanyl and other opioids.
