There's been a rash of threats against schools in Mississippi.

Educators and police across our state have been forced to investigate a rash of threats of violence since the Florida school shooting last week.

Students at Gautier Middle School had to shelter in place yesterday morning while a potential threat was identified.  Another threat was investigated at Pascagoula High.   Superintendent Wayne Rodolfich believes the original threat—made on a social media post—is the same one that caused Petal High to investigate a threat…and says they weren’t made against the school or district.

There have been threats against at least three Mississippi schools since Friday -- but a couple of those investigations have been completed with the arrests of two students in Olive Branch and disciplinary action against a student in Petal. Officials in Seminary are still looking into a threat there. And in Lamar County, some students have gotten into trouble for spreading rumors last week about a phony school threat.
