June 28 Rock Report

A public memorial for late Pantera and Hellyeah drummer Vinnie Paul is planned for this Sunday, July 1st in Dallas. According to yesterday's announcement on Pantera's social media sites, the event will take place at 3:30 at The Bomb Factory in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas. The line for wristbands begins at noon, with no advanced tickets being sold. Paul died last Friday in his sleep at his home in Las Vegas, and the official cause of death remains under investigation.

Stevie Nicks’ camp has a warning for her Facebook followers. “It has come to our attention that scammers are using Stevie's name / pretending to be Stevie Nicks in order to solicit people for money. Please know that Stevie would never reach out to fans asking for money or any type of favor for that matter, and if someone is reaching out to you it is a fraud & should be reported. Thank you!”

Tom Morello is still recovering from fracturing his hand and breaking it in two places. At a concert in Stockholm on Tuesday night, the Prophets Of Rage guitarist recruited a fan from the audience to play the Rage Against The Machine classic "Bulls On Parade." Morello had major surgery on the hand earlier this week, and shared a fairly graphic photo of the procedure on Instagram. Prophets of Rage are currently on a European tour before heading back for a North American tour, starting July 22nd in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
