We've never heard Bruce Springsteen like this before.
Springsteen promised his upcoming solo album, Western Stars, due out June 14, would be a departure in its embrace of his '60s and '70s pop and country western heroes. But the lush arrangement of his new single, "There Goes My Miracle" is unlike much else in The Boss's catalog.
The song is driven by a string orchestra, with Springsteen leaving the comfort of his signature gritty baritone vocal approach and exploring his falsetto.
The album is Springsteen's first of all new material since 2012's Wrecking Ball.
It's still not clear if Springsteen plans to tour on Western Stars. He told Martin Scorsese earlier this spring in an interview published in Variety that he's nearly finished with a new album for the E Street Band, confirming that he's looking forward to getting back on the road with his band.
