With dolphins and sea turtles washing up on beaches from Bay St. Louis to Biloxi, Mayor Fofo Gillich called on coast leaders to join him to discuss the impact the second opening of the Bonnet Carre Spillway is having on local marine life and industry. Ten Mayors in all attended. Their goal is to have input on when the Spillway is opened in the future by the Army Corps of Engineers, which oversees the Spillway. They're planning to visit Washington DC to meet with Mississippi's Congressional delegation on the issue, as well.
