Don McLean is reminding fans how the music used to make them smile with a signed copy of some of the most iconic lyrics in music history.

The legend is selling handwritten lyrics to his 1971 multi-platinum hit, "American Pie," named among the top five "Songs of the [20th] Century" by the Recording Industry Association of America and the National Endowment for the Arts. The "faircopy" of the eight-and-a-half minute track was "scribbled across 8 sheets of personalized parchment" for a friend a few years back and was signed by the artist himself.

The eight-page copy, being sold via Moments In Time, can be yours for a cool $154,000. Before you read the price tag and say "bye-bye Miss American Pie," wait until you hear what the original lyrics sold for nearly a decade ago.

Don McLean's first-ever penned copy of the world-renowned lyrical masterpiece sold for a whopping $1.2 million during an auction in 2015, per TMZ. The "Vincent" artist has kept momentum going in recent years, receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2021, making his Grand Ole Opry debut in February 2024, and releasing brand new album American Boys in May.

The lyrics to "American Pie" were brought to life in 2023 documentary, "The Day The Music Died," which uncovers the story behind McLean's catchy chorus in reference to the tragic Clear Lake, Iowa, plane crash that killed young rock 'n' roll greats Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly, and J.P "The Big Bopper" Richardson in 1959.
