Rod Stewart is cancelling a second show at Caesars Palace's Colosseum due to health concerns. In a post on X, the 80-year-old singer revealed that he's recovering from the flu and his doctor is ordering him to rest a bit more before getting back onstage.
"I’m awfully sorry to have to cancel my show June 5th at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace," he lamented. "My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flue. Thanks for your love and understanding."
The news comes after Stewart cancelled a show there scheduled for June 2. That performance has already been rescheduled for June 10. It's not clear when and if the second show will be rescheduled.
Stewart is also slated to perform at the iconic Glastonbury festival in the UK later this month and recently confirmed he'd be joined by his Faces bandmate, and current Rolling Stones guitarist, Ronnie Wood during the set.
The Colosseum show is part of a Las Vegas residency that was recently extended into September and October. Stewart is also gearing up for his "One Last Time" tour, which he declared "will be the end of large-scale world tours."
However, he also admitted he has "no desire to retire."
“I love what I do, and I do what I love,” Stewart wrote in a statement last November. “I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79.”
“I’d like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next – smaller venues and more intimacy," he added. "But then again, I may not…”
For now you can see a full list of Stewart's current tour dates on his official website.
