If you've been wondering how House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's trip to Taiwan went, get ready to laugh.
While defending her controversial trip Pelosi decided to play the identity politics card, claiming China was only upset because she's a woman.
I know. It's even stupider than what you were probably expecting, isn't it?
The House Speaker was warned not to visit China last month by President Joe Biden, a person whom many believe has been compromised by the communists over his son's foreign business affairs, but she went ahead and did it anyway.
Normally we'd be pleased that an American political leader defied the orders of the most powerful communist regime on Earth but this so-called diplomatic mission was as mysterious as it was hastily planned. Her decision to visit Taiwan seemed to abruptly occur right around the same time her husband was heading to court for DUI charges. The mainstream media took the bait because her Taiwan visit has made Paul's DUI a footnote in the news.
Speaking of her husband, when you consider his recent tech stock investments connected to the microchip production industry it's easy to see why many are accusing Nancy of making the trip to Taiwan for personal reasons. The country is one of the leading global sources for microchip production and the trip happened right after her husband made a contentious stock trade with Nvidia.
Meanwhile China warned Pelosi and the United States not to make the trip.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said, “Those who play with fire will not come to a good end and those who offend China will be punished.”
After Pelosi reached the island Beijing responded by orchestrating a giant military exercise in the seas surrounding Taiwan. Mainland China and Taiwan have been feuding since 1946 but during a press conference the Speaker of the House claimed the only reason China was mad about her visit was because of their misogynistic views towards women.
I wish I was kidding.
